Silverado Contractors was contracted to perform a complete interior gut-out of one of the oldest buildings on the Sonoma State University campus. The scope included asbestos abatement, full MEP system removal, and soft demolition throughout the structure. Upon completion of soft demo, Silverado removed over 500 precast concrete panels from the building exterior.

Due to PCB-containing caulking between the panels, hazardous materials protocols were implemented to carefully remove the caulking and segregate leached concrete into a separate waste stream to prevent contamination of clean debris. Additional scope included selective structural demolition, site demolition, removal of the rooftop penthouse structure, and roof membrane removal. This project required detailed environmental compliance and precise execution to support the safe modernization of a historic campus facility.
