Silverado Contractors was contracted to perform both selective and full building demolition on a site featuring significant historical elements. The scope included the isolation and demolition of the Turbine Building and the Switch House Building, along with the removal of steel catwalks and all interior components within the Machine Shop.

A key focus of the project was the selective salvage and preservation of historic elements over a century old. Silverado carefully salvaged large gantry cranes, historic doors dating back to the 1800s, and a monumental historic façade weighing over 85,000 pounds. Extensive shoring was implemented to support the façade during removal. This project showcased Silverado’s ability to blend technical demolition expertise with thoughtful historic preservation.
