Silverado Contractors, Inc. was contracted by Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) and Michels Pacific Energy to perform the engineered explosives demolition of two decommissioned transmission towers—Tower #157 (425 feet) and Tower #158 (505 feet)—located on opposite sides of the Sacramento River in Rio Vista, California. The use of precision explosives, led by Controlled Demolition Inc. (CDI), was selected for its superior efficiency, safety, and time savings compared to traditional mechanical demolition methods.
