Silverado Contractors was contracted to perform the complete interior and structural demolition of an 8-story hospital tower with a basement, located in the center of an active medical campus. As the site was not intended for redevelopment, the goal was to safely clear the structure and return the area to open space. Working within a fully operational healthcare environment required careful coordination, planning, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

The scope included the removal of universal waste, asbestos abatement, lead and PCB remediation, and full soft demolition. Once abatement was complete, structural demolition commenced. Due to the presence of post-tensioned slabs, Silverado developed and implemented a detailed engineered demolition and shoring plan to ensure safe and controlled dismantling. The project showcased Silverado’s ability to manage complex demolition in sensitive, occupied environments.
