Demolition
Silverado Contractors was contracted by Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California, to perform the demolition of the Dare Devil, a 72-foot-tall circular roller coaster originally opened in 2015. This marked the fourth ride demolition Silverado has completed for the park. The removal was part of a planned redevelopment to make way for a new attraction.
The scope included the demolition and removal of the steel ride structure and associated concrete walkways. Silverado partnered with Bigge Crane to assist in torch-cutting and carefully lowering steel sections to the ground for safe removal and off-haul. All materials were recycled, aligning with the park’s sustainability efforts. The work was completed efficiently and without incident in just five working days, allowing the park to maintain its tight project schedule.
