Silverado Contractors was contracted to perform the demolition and abatement phase of the Student Housing Phase 5 Project, marking a key milestone in the redevelopment of modernized student accommodations. The scope included the full abatement and demolition of three vacant, three-story student housing buildings: Sycamore, Cypress, and Valencia; totaling approximately 133,000 square feet. Silverado also removed a maintenance building, basketball and volleyball courts, and surrounding site improvements spanning an additional 50,000 square feet.

The buildings had been unoccupied for about a year, becoming targets for vandalism and unauthorized encampments. Silverado’s work not only cleared the site for new construction but also helped restore safety and security to the surrounding campus environment, supporting the timely advancement of this important student housing initiative.
