Silverado Contractors was contracted to demolish the former 140,500-square-foot Boarding Area A at San Francisco International Airport to support the airport’s international terminal expansion. The existing building was obstructing the development of new international jetways and needed to be removed to accommodate future growth.

With extensive experience at SFO, Silverado’s project managers and superintendents executed the demolition efficiently within a highly active airport environment. The complex foundation system beneath the rotunda portion was removed in just six working days, enabling a rapid expansion schedule while minimizing disruption to ongoing airport operations.
