Silverado Contractors was selected to perform the full abatement and demolition of the existing five-story structure, which previously occupied the site. The scope also included a large-scale mass excavation to prepare the site for the construction of a new high-rise tower featuring both residential and commercial space. The 30 Van Ness project, located in the heart of downtown San Francisco and bounded by Market Street, Fell Street, and Van Ness Avenue, was executed under two separate contracts.

A key component of the new design is a 15-foot-thick mat slab foundation located at the center of the building. Acting as a massive counterweight, this structural feature will support the tower's core and ensure long-term stability. Silverado’s team worked closely with project partners to safely and efficiently clear the site, navigating the challenges of a dense urban environment while laying the groundwork for a transformative mixed-use development.
